Been stored awhile, hooked up and it works perfectly and sounds awesome. Played for several hours, a power amp with really clear sound and lots of punch. Tested in stereo only. These are regarded as workhorses, very reliable. 175 watts per channel at 8 ohms, 250 at 4 ohms, 300 at 2 ohms. 500 bridged at 8 ohms. Cosmetically, it has lots of scratches.
This amp looks like new and is built like a tank (heavy). Can be used with anywhere from 1 to 5 Outputs. 5 Channel output is 125 Watts per channel. Stereo 2 Channel output is 200 Watts per channel. This will be Professionally packaged with care to arrive safely to your door step. MADE IN THE USA!
UPDATED pix, it IS a M1.5t, fan vent high power etc. Had briefly for second system, more power than I needed. 350 into 8ohm, most my BPs are 6 ohm so this was bit high total distortion at high levels esp. On 4 to 6 ohm speakers. The 0.1 thd doesn’t go up with watts as other amp but does get hotter and high with more ohm loads. Has a replace fan and some abrasion and wear marks from years of use. Works as should and the soft power on needs some kind of amp relay or preamp to power on or off. Bob Carver thought some of his Amps stay on constantly with very low current drain til high power use. Amp has a static light buzz or feedback from fan at no volume, doesn’t go up with volume but auditable at idle and between track’s. Loud as heck, my speakers pound and a bit course with. 1% thd, higher than most of Bobs amps but this design was for audio more than musical. May need capacitor replacement in future as old amps tend to need this eventually.

One amp is in very good condition, never had any issues, looks very nice, and always played as it should. The other is a bit ugly, much rougher cosmetic condition, does have rack handles, no box or manual. As far as performance of second amp, if it turned on correctly it worked great. It has an intermittent on, 50 times comes right on next time I had to play with the on off switch to get it powered. As I understand these suffer from relay problems which I never really spent any time looking at. I only used these very sparingly.

Used, Carver Amplifier set. The preamp has gold rca. The Main 1 out needs a new cap on one side. The Main 2 out is what I have been using. Its been like that since I got it. I have not noticed any other issues. Be careful with the gold rca. The power amp lights work. The Sonic Holography sound is really cool, and also the spectral tilt and separate left and right bass and treble, Contour and Stereo Blend. You can also plug in 2 external processors. I don’t have enough room to set up the big speakers any more or else I would keep the set. It is in storage now for a while and not being used. It is a great amp to power the JBL CF150 325W speaker set I have. It is really loud and nice sound. The speakers are not included.
