AudioSource AMP200 Stereo Power Amplifier Recently Serviced (Black)
AudioSource AMP200 Stereo 160 Watt Power Amplifier. Recently serviced, cleaned, tested and inspected. Has one minor defect — see NOTES below. With some cosmetic imperfections, but still in great condition overall. There may be some scratches or finish dings, but nothing that affects the function and playability of the gear. Exactly as seen in the pictures. All work performed by the techs at MC Mobile, Thousand Oaks, CA 91320. All controls cleaned and checked. One of the black output speaker binding posts was replaced with a new one of the same style, but just a tad smaller (hardly noticeable, but please see our pictures). Response magnitude measured from 100 Hz to 10 KHz, and it is within 4.8% for the right channel & 4.9% for the left. Power measured at 1 KHz into 8 Ohm, one channel driven, and it is 112.4 W RMS at onset of clip for the right channel and 113.1 W RMS for the left channel. This is comfortably in excess of the specification. Top to bottom amplification symmetry also checked, and it is quite good. One of the spring clips for the right speaker (low level) input is missing (please see our pictures). This function should not be used because it is a very low fidelity way to utilize this amp. The usual and far superior method is to supply signal to this amp through the RCA inputs for Line 1 and/or Line 2 from a good quality stereo pre-amp. If desired, contact can be made by soldering a wire where the spring clip is missing, but, again, this is a poor, low fidelity method to supply signal to this amp. Hence, virtually no one will use the speaker level inputs to waste the fidelity of this amp, and we were always puzzled as to why Audiosource included this function in the first place. Some original Audiosource verbiage. AudioSource raises the bar with the Amp200, which offers features that you would expect to find on higher priced, esoteric amplifiers. 80 watts of stereo power drives even the most demanding speakers. Line level and speaker level inputs make the Amp200 a simple upgrade to any system. Other features include a signal sensed auto on, a stereo/mono switch, a 12V trigger auto on and a 12V trigger output. Power output: 2 x 80 watts into 8 ohms, 2 x 125 watts into 4 ohms, 250 watts into 8 ohms bridged mono. Signal to noise ratio: greater than 103 dB. 400 watt unswitched outlet. Dimensions: 3-1/2″ H x 16-1/2″ L x 14 D.
